Barb Popp

Barb graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy in 1992. She has worked in Paediatrics, Work Rehabilitation and developed her passion for hand therapy whilst working at the Mackay Base Hospital over 20 years ago. Since 1999 she has been working in Private Practice. She is a full Member of the Australian Hand Therapy Association and her purpose is to inspire colleagues and patients in the treatment and management of hand injuries. Barb is married with 2 children.

Wendy Maher

Wendy is an Occupational Therapist who developed a special interest for Hand Therapy as an undergraduate student. Since graduating from James Cook University in 2005 she has worked in numerous roles where she has had the opportunity to gain experience in treating hand injuries and conditions. Joining the Popp Hand Therapy team at the beginning of 2017 has allowed her to continue to pursue her passion in this area. Wendy is an associate member of the Australian Hand Therapy Association and loves treating all hand injuries and conditions. Outside of work she loves exploring the Mackay region with her husband and two young daughters – especially if it involves a paddleboard!

Suzy Price

Since graduating from University of Qld with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy in 1986, Suzy has worked both in the UK and Australia in a variety of settings including hospitals, schools, aged care and community organisations. Her search for a challenge, resulted in the development of a love of hand therapy, an area she has been working in for the past twelve years. An Accredited Hand Therapist as awarded by the Australian Hand Therapy Association, Suzy has been working for Popp Hand Therapy since 2013.

Brittany Rushby

Brittany graduated from James Cook University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy. She developed a keen interest in hand therapy after completing a 12-month rotation in hand therapy at Mackay Base Hospital. Brittany has spent time in the UK working in hand therapy in one of the major trauma and orthopaedics hospitals in London and also has experience working in neurological rehabilitation of the upper limb. She has a special interest in wrist injuries and acute trauma. Brittany is an associate member of the Australian Hand Therapy Association (AHTA).

Leanne Spratt

Director of First Impressions


Leanne brings a brilliant smile and attitude with a broad range of experience to Popp Hand Therapy. Over 30 years she has accumulated knowledge from working in the legal, medical and mining industries in positions as secretary, personal assistant, accounts manager, receptionist and office manager. She has lived in Mackay for 24 years and has three gorgeous children.
